Catherine and Helen, Co-Founders of Surrey HomeSearch have been working together to find perfect homes for their clients for many years now, but in all this time, they very rarely shine the spotlight on themselves…
We thought you might like to find out a little more about the Founders and driving force behind Surrey HomeSearch.
Helen was born and raised in Surrey - growing up in Cranleigh, and attending school in Guildford. Helen went on to University in Swansea - enjoying the fabulous sea views from the campus!
After a stint in South West London in her twenties, Helen moved back to live just outside of Guildford over 10 years ago.
It was in London that Helen started her property career, working for some of the top estate agents in Putney and Fulham, reaching Associate Director level at Chestertons in Parsons Green. Following a move from London to Surrey and a career break to raise two fabulous children it was clear that Helen’s skills in property, knowledge of Surrey and client rapport skills were not to be wasted. In 2019, Helen and Catherine put their heads together and decided to join forces and co-found Surrey HomeSearch - helping clients find their perfect Surrey home.
When I’m not sourcing properties for our clients, I enjoy keeping active and going to the gym. I enjoy discovering the stunning countryside, socialising with friends, and exploring the many coffee shops of Surrey!
The list is so long...Surrey is just wonderful! We are so spoilt in Surrey - we have fast, easy access to London as well as the south coast, plus an abundance of beautiful countryside on our doorstep. The Surrey Hills provide rolling hills and stunning views - great for serious bike-riders and walkers alike and we have a number of really really pretty villages, superb schools, and excellent old market towns and cities for shopping - what's not to love?!
I can tell you...but please keep them quiet! When I get the chance, I love to go for a walk. Papercourt Lake in Ripley is just gorgeous in the summer months. The Surrey Hills are stunning in every season, and I love to stop at Newlands Corner - I feel the view is just transformed by the weather.
Surrey has so many wonderful larger towns which are great for shopping – Guildford, Dorking and Farnham, to name a few. However, I feel that it is so important to support the local businesses, and Surrey has so many beautiful smaller towns and villages which are just full of independent businesses which I love to pop into.

Catherine grew up in neighbouring Hampshire, studied at Warwick University and then after graduation - although her appetite for travelling and her early career took her to many overseas countries and to live in London for a while - Catherine settled with her family in Surrey.
Raised in a family of Estate Agents/Property Finders, and with a passion for property and meticulous research skills and attention to detail, it was probably only a matter of time before Catherine joined the property sector! Catherine worked in Property Development and then later as a Property Finder helping a number of clients make the move from London to the Home Counties before jumping in with both feet and co-founding Surrey HomeSearch with Helen.

I caught the running bug in my twenties and although I only ever run for “fun”, I have taken part in several running events including the Great Ethiopian Run and the iconic London Marathon. Nowadays, my running tends to be more of a gentle jog around the park, but it’s one of the many things I love about living in Surrey - I can step out of the door and find green space to run. I did a lot of “pavement pounding” living in London, so I really value having the choice of running different terrains and outlooks - I particularly enjoy a run around the lake or along the canal. There are so many walking/running trails you really are spoilt for choice.
I’m drawn to the water, so I’ll spend every moment I can by a lake or river. I love Open Water Swimming at The SHAC at Buckland Park - and they’re currently building a sauna by the lake so you might find me there (shhhhh……).
If I’m after a little retail therapy, I have to say that The Packhouse near Farnham is one of my happy places. It has an eclectic mix of antique and upcycled furniture and new items - and The Palm House Cafe next door is a great post-shop stop to refuel!
